HFM is the student radio station for Hameldon Community College Burnley, broadcasting 24 hours a day during term time UK wide via this website. The station is run by students for students, meaning the people behind the station understand what the listenership want to hear. With no set format to many of our shows, our presenters have the chance to try whatever they like, as long as it's legal!

HFM'S studios lie at the very heart of the Campus in the Eaves building. The stations real presence is felt outside of the studio, around the campus and on the web.

Behind the scenes, the main activities involved in running the station are broken down in teams, which contain officers who are responsible for specific areas of station activity. HFM is proud to have a large active membership, and encourages people to get involved, no matter what they want to do or how much time they can commit.

HFM has a rich history of pioneering broadcasting, beginning in 1996 when it did its first RSL with hired equipment. Today the studio uses a Myriad Playout system and is fully automated when required. We also have a small film studio next door.

Now approaching our 11th Anniversary HFM continues to strive to be a leader in college student radio, each new intake of people brings new ideas and contributes to the enthusiasm you hear on-air. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site and take the opportunity to listen in.
