Keane: 'Perfect Symmetry'
Released on Monday, December 29 2008

It came as something of a surprise when Keane packed away the piano and went all electro-anthemic on 'Spiralling', but their new, synth-heavy sound is clearly playing off. The Sussex trio's Perfect Symmetry LP shot straight to the top of the charts in October and now they're back with its third spin-off single.
Described by the band as an 'anthem of peace', 'Perfect Symmetry' brings together some of the old and some of the new. The piano-based sound that defined their early offerings makes a return - but this time it's balanced out with fresher, sexier production. Meanwhile, Tom Chaplin's vocals are at their brazen best as he takes the listener on a philosophical journey: 'Who are you? What are you fighting for? Holy truth? Brother I choose this mortal life.' Who needs a church when you've got a Chaplin, eh?
